"Well on the senior college tour I had a lot of fun. I got to meet new people, and visit colleges that I would never get the chance to visit. Out of all the colleges we toured, I loved the University of Southern California the best, I could picture my self going there so, I applied. The college tour was overall a good experience and I would recommend upcoming seniors to go."

"For my senior tour I had a fantastic time. We went to a variety of college tours such as UC Irvine, University of Southern California, but my favorite college that I loved the most was Pepperdine up in Malibu. I would recommend all students to sign up for the UCSD TRIO Outreach Program because it would benefit you in the future such as preparing you for college and through out high school. and I would also recommend upcoming seniors to sign up for the senior tour because it gives you the advantage to see what the college looks like and to make your decision in choosing your college that you want to go to easier. Overall, I had an amazing time, made new friends and saw different varieties of colleges."

"I have participated in the UCSD Educational Talent Search program for the past 7 years. When I was recruited in the 6th grade, college seemed so distant to me that I had not thought about what college I wanted to go to or what careers I was interested in. I thought I was still too young to think about college but I joined mostly for the field trips but also because my mother thought it was a great idea to start learning about college. With the help of my middle school advisor, I had the privilege to visit UCSD many times on Saturday field trips to learn about college, different careers and different majors you could choose from. In high school I not only was given the privilege to visit UCSD for many other field trips, I was also given the opportunity to on a Senior tour during the summer to visit colleges across California. One the many added bonuses to going on this trip, and the one I am most thankful for, was that each student on the tour could sit down with their advisor and work on their applications and essays. It was a one-on-one session that had no real time limits or disruptions that you would normally face when your advisor would come to your high school. Overall I am very thankful for being given the opportunity to join this program because without the help of my advisors constantly pushing me to do better in my classes and exposing me to postsecondary education, I would not able to stand proud and say that I am enrolled at the University of California, Merced for the fall 2008 semester."
